WHAT IT DOES

Core Features

A smoothed RSI ribbon with a long moving average for trend confirmation. built for both scalping and swing trading with cross signals, labels and alerts.

RSI Ribbon

The ribbon is formed by smoothed RSI paired with a short-term RMA. When RSI is bullish, the ribbon and background turn green. When bearish, they turn red. The smoothing makes standard RSI much easier to read while preserving its ability to catch early reversals and trend changes.

Long Moving Average

A long moving average acts as the overall trend detector and confirmation line. When the ribbon holds above the long moving average, the trend is bullish. When it holds below, the trend is bearish. Waiting for the ribbon to cross this line helps filter out noise and gets you into positions when the market is ready to make a real move.

Cross Signals

Green or red circles appear on the indicator when there is a bullish or bearish cross of the RSI ribbon and the long moving average. These mark the moment when RSI momentum aligns with or diverges from the longer-term trend.

Real-Time Labels

A color-changing label on the right side tells you whether RSI is bullish or bearish and whether the ribbon is currently above or below the long moving average. This gives you a two-part read at a glance. RSI direction plus trend position.

Alerts

The indicator includes alerts for when RSI turns bullish or bearish and for when the RSI ribbon crosses the long moving average.

GOOD TO KNOW

Important Notes & Limitations

The ribbon can give false signals during choppy, sideways markets. Using the long moving average as a filter helps reduce this. Wait for the ribbon to cross and hold above or below the long MA before entering.
Scalping entries based on ribbon color alone (without long MA confirmation) will produce more frequent signals but also more whipsaws. Use the long MA for higher-probability entries.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Same ribbon + long MA architecture, but this uses RSI as the base oscillator instead of momentum. RSI is bounded between 0–100 and measures relative strength, while momentum measures the rate of price change and is unbounded. Use both together on the same chart for two independent signal sources confirming the same direction.
The ribbon is formed by smoothed RSI paired with a short-term RMA. When RSI is bullish the ribbon turns green, when bearish it turns red. The smoothing makes standard RSI much easier to read while preserving its early reversal detection ability.
Green or red circles appear when the RSI ribbon crosses the long moving average. A green circle means a bullish cross. RSI is moving above the long-term trend. A red circle means a bearish cross. RSI is falling below it.
For scalping, enter when the ribbon changes color and exit when it changes back or crosses the long MA. For swing trading, wait for the ribbon to hold above or below the long MA and trade in that direction, exiting when the ribbon turns opposite or crosses back.
It works on all markets including stocks, crypto, futures and forex, and on all timeframes.
