Buy Sell Signal Scanner for TradingView

Buy Sell Signal Scanner on a TradingView chart showing multi-timeframe and multi-ticker bullish and bearish signal directions in a color-coded table
The Buy Sell Signal Scanner is a TradingView indicator that detects whether the market is bullish or bearish according to the Buy Sell Indicator algorithm on up to 8 different timeframes. It can also be customized to scan different tickers so you can monitor correlated or inversely correlated markets for extra confirmation. The scanner can be configured to use the exact same settings as your Buy Sell Indicator so everything uses the same formula.

Price action as well as many other factors must all confirm the direction before a signal can come in, but it reacts quickly so it can give early signals at the first sign of reversal. Fine-tune your settings to match your Buy Sell Indicator configuration to get matching signals on the scanner.

WHAT IT DOES

Core Features

Multi-Timeframe Signal Scanning

The scanner detects bullish or bearish conditions on up to 8 configurable timeframes and displays them in a color-coded table. Green for bullish, red for bearish. The defaults scan the same ticker on higher timeframes starting from a 1-minute chart baseline, but each timeframe can be adjusted from 1 minute up to 1 year.

Multi-Ticker Scanning

Each of the 8 scanner slots can be set to a different ticker. This lets you monitor correlated markets (e.g., NQ, ES, and SPY together) or inversely correlated markets for extra confirmation. When a different ticker is selected, the ticker name and timeframe appear in the table.

Each scanned ticker/timeframe can be individually turned on or off to control what appears in the table.

Four Trade Modes

The scanner uses the same signal algorithm as the Buy Sell Indicator with four trade modes:

  • Scalp Mode: Compares the current candle to the previous candle. Has the fastest reactions, most signals
  • Swing Mode: Compares the current candle to the previous 2 candles. It holds positions longer
  • Long Swing Mode: Compares the current candle to the last 10 candles. It holds positions even longer
  • Super Swing Mode: Designed to hold through choppy price action for longer swings while still giving early entries

All four modes use the same core signal calculations but apply different price action filters. Match these settings to your Buy Sell Indicator configuration for consistent results.

Signal Sensitivity Controls

The Candle Size Rejection Multiple controls how large a candle must be before a signal can fire. Lower numbers (default: 0.1) allow signals on smaller candles for faster reactions. Higher numbers (up to 3.0) require larger candles, helping hold positions longer but potentially missing entries during low-volatility periods. The sweet spot for holding positions while still getting timely signals is between 0.5 and 1.5.

The candle size rejection can be toggled on or off entirely. With it off, signals fire regardless of candle size.

Candle Trailing Length

An adjustable filter that ensures the current candle is closing higher than the previous X candles for a bull signal, or lower for a bear signal. This helps prevent false signals during choppy conditions. Match this setting to your Buy Sell Indicator’s configuration.

CONFIGURATION

Settings Overview

Signal Settings

Setting Default Description
Trade Mode Scalp Choose Scalp, Swing, Long Swing, or Super Swing mode. Match to your Buy Sell Indicator settings
Candle Trailing Length 3 Number of previous candles the current close must exceed for a signal. Higher numbers hold positions longer
Candle Size Rejection On/Off Off Toggle candle size rejection filtering. When off, signals fire regardless of candle size
Candle Size Rejection Multiple 0.1 Controls minimum candle size for signals (0.1–3.0). Higher numbers require larger candles and hold positions longer. Best range for balance: 0.5–1.5

Scanner Settings

Each of the 8 scanner slots has:

  • Ticker selection (leave empty to use chart ticker)
  • Timeframe selection (1 minute to 1 year)
  • On/Off toggle to show or hide that slot in the table

Note: Turning a slot off only removes it from the table display. The gap between surrounding slots will remain. If you don’t want gaps, use the first consecutive slots and turn off the last ones.

Table Position

The scanner table can be repositioned to any part of the chart via the settings menu.

STAY NOTIFIED

Alerts

Available alert conditions:

  • All timeframes bullish on candle close – fires when all 8 scanned slots show bullish
  • All timeframes bearish on candle close – fires when all 8 show bearish
  • First 4 bullish + last 4 bearish (and vice versa) – useful for forex divergence setups with correlated/inverse tickers
  • Individual ticker/timeframe signal direction changes – fires when any individual scanned slot changes from bullish to bearish or vice versa

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

The scanner works independently, but it uses the same signal algorithm as the Buy Sell Indicator. For the best results, use both together. The Buy Sell Indicator gives you entry signals on your chart timeframe while the scanner shows you whether higher timeframes confirm that direction. Match the trade mode and settings between both indicators for consistent signals.
Scalp mode compares the current candle to the previous candle for the fastest reactions. Swing mode compares to the previous 2 candles and holds positions longer. Long Swing mode compares to the last 10 candles for extended holds. Super Swing mode is designed to hold through choppy price action for longer swings while still giving early entries. All four use the same core signal calculations with different price action filters.
Set the first 4 scanner slots to tickers that typically move in the same direction as your trading pair, and the last 4 to tickers that typically move opposite. Use the alert that fires when the first 4 are bullish and last 4 are bearish (or vice versa) to detect divergence setups where correlated and inverse markets are aligning in a trade-favorable pattern.
It controls the minimum candle size required before a signal can fire. At 0.1 (default), almost any candle size can trigger a signal. At higher values, only larger candles qualify. This helps hold positions longer but can miss entries during low-volatility periods. The best balance for holding positions while still getting timely signals is between 0.5 and 1.5. The feature can be toggled off entirely if you want signals regardless of candle size.
Yes. Each of the 8 scanner slots can be set to a different ticker and timeframe. This lets you monitor correlated markets together. For example, scanning NQ, ES, SPY, and QQQ simultaneously to see if all major indices confirm the same direction. When a different ticker is selected, the ticker name appears alongside the timeframe in the table.

The companion signal indicator uses the same algorithm on your chart timeframe to generate buy and sell signals. Match settings between both for consistent results, then use the scanner to confirm direction on higher timeframes.

Premium Suite

Identifies high-probability reversal zones using volume spikes, OHLC levels, sessions, and VWAP. Wait for price to reach a supply or demand level, confirm with a Buy Sell signal, and validate direction with the scanner for triple confluence.

Premium Suite

A different approach to multi-timeframe scanning using pure price action trend detection. Use both scanners together for cross-confirmation. When both the Buy Sell algorithm and the price action algorithm agree on direction, the confluence is exceptional.
